Tesla connection failed
If Tesla authentication fails, here is what to check.
"Tesla authentication failed" message
This means the connection flow did not complete successfully. Common causes:
- You cancelled the login - Closing the Tesla login window or clicking back will cancel the flow
- Incorrect credentials - Double-check your Tesla email and password
- Two-factor authentication - Make sure to complete the 2FA step on Tesla's login page
- Tesla servers down - Occasionally Tesla's auth servers have outages. Try again in a few minutes
How to retry
- Click the "Connect to Tesla" button again
- You will be redirected to Tesla's login page
- Complete the login and approve permissions
- Wait for the redirect back to Car Pulse Tracker
Seeing a "third-party access" prompt?
This is not an error. Tesla requires you to explicitly approve third-party data access as part of the normal connection flow. Accept the permissions to continue.
